Proverbs 22:6

We are fortunate enough to be blessed with 3 wonderful little boys: Jay, Cody, and Riley. We always say that we're not just raising boys, but we are raising husbands. This blog is for them.

Jay's 5th Grade Talent Show

Today was Jay's 5th grade talent show, and what a talent that Jay has.  I have to say that I didn't even know that Jay was going to enter the talent show.  I guess that he just set his mind to it, and he did it.  He decided that his talent was singing, and he picked him a great song....."We Will Rock You" by Queen.  Apparntly there were some preliminary rounds at school, and the culmination was tonight at his school.  Jay was first to go, and I gave him some pointers before he got up there and sang.  I told him that he needed to get the crowd involved....and there was a BUNCH of people there.  He got up there, and he did not seem nervous at all.  He told the crowd that he was going to sing, and that he needed their help.  He said, "will you help me?".....then he said it louder, "WILL YOU HELP ME?"  The crowd shouted "YES"....and he was off.  We had downloaded the background music from ITUNES, and as the music started, Jay let the crowd in the BOOM BOOM CLAP that is goes along with the song.  Then when the time came to start singing, Jay didn't miss a word, and the crowd kept on boom boom clapping.  He did AWESOME!!  There were no judges for the talent show, but if there had been, Jay would have won going away.  There were no other performances by any of the other 5th graders that came close to his.  He was truly in his element tonight!!  I kept a very proud smile on my face all night long!  Way to go, JAY!!!  You ROCK!

3 Amigos

Not really sure what this picture was taken for, but I just thought that it was a really good picture of Cody and 2 of his best friends, Sam Weaver and Wesley Rigdon.  These boys hang out together all the time, and are all 3 really good kids.   Usually they look all raggedy, but for some reason they had to dress up today, and stood still long enough for someone to snap a really good picture of the 3 of them together.  They clean up pretty stinkin good!

Happy 8th Birthday, Codybug!!

Happy Birthday, Cody!!  I can't believe that you are 8 years old today.  It just seems like yesterday that we were talking about what a fat little baby you were...with your mohawk hair.  People still talk about your hair all the time because it is soooo black!  I posted a picture of you on Facebook today, and it was when you were little.  You were in the bathtub, and we had made your hair into a mohawk.  Taylor Brooke commented on it saying that she remembered when you were little, we had to cover your ears with cups when we washed your hair because you had tubes in your ears.  I had forgotten about that, but her saying it reminded me.  You are so stinkin sweet!!  God really knew what he was doing when he put you in the middle of your brothers.  You are the perfect "middle child"....but above that, you are a great little boy, no matter if you had been first or last.  You make me and mommy proud everyday!  You are so considerate to others.  You try super duper hard at everything that you do.  I'm thankful that God chose me to be your Daddy!  I know that He has great plans for you.
Today, you got a Nintendo DSI from Mommy and Daddy.  Yaya and PawPaw sent you a card with some $$$ in it.  You hid the money, and said that you might spend it after you see what you get at your party.  We are planning a party for you next weekend.  You are going to have a few friends over and go to Stars and Strikes for some arcade games and some laser tag.  We asked you if you wanted to go out to eat dinner tonight...anything that you wanted.  We figured that you would want some Chinese Food.  But instead, you chose to stay home and have taco night and make ice cream sundaes....like I said earlier...so stinkin sweet!  Happy birthday, buddy!!  We love you so much!

Snaggletooth Zombie

Today we finally won the battle with Riley's front tooth.  We had been wrestling with it for weeks and weeks.  Finally today, it was loose enough to pull.  Riley was so happy to get it out, and he has shown it ever since.  He has came up with many new "looks".  He has the "hillbilly" and my favorite....the "zombie".  He is so funny!!  And he looks just like a little 6 year old zombie.

Blizzard of 2011

Well, it's early in 2011, but we've already had a bonafide blizzard in GA.  We had about 7-8 inches of snow, and then about 1/4 inch of ice on top of it.  It pretty much shut down EVERYTHING....except our friends Chuck, Susan, and Wesley Rigdon....they ventured out, risking their lives, to come over and sled with us on this snowy, icy day.  It was the most snow that we have seen here since 1993, and it was a BUNCH.  We went out and rode sleds down the hill in the backyard, and made a couple of smowmen.  One funny story about a snowman....Jay made 1 snowman in the front yard, and Cody and I made another one.  Well, as I was rolling up a ball that would be the middle section of the snowman, it got a big chuck of Biscuit's dog poopy in it, and you boys called him the "poopy snowman".  You boys were out of school for the whole week due to this storm...you had fun playing in the snow, but you won't like making up those school days!!
